Description

Eclvandra Felyndrylerel, aka Elvira Felyn
Drow Elf (Drovik) female Lvl 2 War Witch of Eilistraee

In ancient times, before the existence of the Splinter Kingdom was known, the Drow inhabited The Drowlands.  That consisted of a huge subterranean cavern beneath the Taipai Sea, accessible primarily through passages and tunnels that surfaced in the western half of Beotharn.  The Drowlands extended for almost a hundred miles east to west, over sixty north to south, with a river bisecting the cavern and a ceiling more than a mile overhead.  As the single largest cavern in the entire crust of Arrallon, it served as the center of what was then considered the only major population in the UnderDark.  No one had yet discovered the ways to the Western UnderDark under the Golden Ocean.

In the days before the overthrow of the last of the Mellikan line and the installation of Treallar as the new God of the Drow, no one knew that there were others of the Dark Seldarine, other Drow Gods, hidden beyond the veil, or skulking in the shadows.  However, in the west, where the Splinter Kingdom was living a life of isolation, absolute in their rule, and convinced that they were the only race that mattered, those “other” Drow Gods were more visible.  Lolth’s Priestesses hunted and hounded them, but the geographic separation of the tunnels and passages, and the relatively small size of the caverns in which Drow cities were built, led to secret cults popping up here and there, from time to time.  Also, the connection of the Western UnderDark to the continent of Callona, and primarily the kingdom of Carellon, meant that Drow influence could find a place to surface and live under the open sky.  It was in those early days, even before Carellon evolved from city states into a nation, that Eilistraee first danced under the full moon.

When the Heroes of Arrallon, with Mollasar Mallabane wielding the Sword of the Mallabanes, overthrew the rule of Mellikan VII, then ventured into the Abyss and slew Lolth for the first time, Treallar emerged as the new God of the Drow.  There was rejoicing and confusion amongst the Drow Elves in the days, years and decades afterwards.  During that churn, other Drow Gods were finally introduced to the newly formed Drovikallum.  Eilistraee, Zhelvienne, Kiriansalee, even Selvetarm were brought into the dim light of the UnderDark.  The government mandated worship of the Drovikallum was that of Treallar, yet others were permitted,… in small and powerless congregations, of course.  One such congregation, that would grow and eventually supplant the others when both Treallar and Lolth were finally gone for good, was the Moon Cult of Eilistraee.

Shalastyr Felyndrylerel had been a rogue priestess of Eilistraee when such worship was still a death sentence if caught.  Her sister, a devout Lolth worshipper learned of her sister's blasphemous and rebellious activities.  So, at an early age, Eclavandra Felyndrylerel was orphaned on the mean streets of the city of Gust in the Drowlands.  Whether by fortune or fate, or the unique nature of the child, she was saved by members of her mother's cult and hidden amongst the refugees and revolutionaries that would join Mollasar's rebellion.  When the final battles came to pass and the Drowlands were finally free of the Spider Queen, Eclavandra was happy to be there when her duplicitous aunt was rounded up and executed as part of the Chairman's purge.  But Eclavandra's heart, soul and future were already sworn to the Moon Dancer.  The bloody purge of the Drowlands that followed Mollasar's ascendance soured her on revolutions, though she never lost her hatred of the Spider-Kissers.  When alliances with the uplanders were penned, Eclavandra found her way to the surface and became part of the Drovik presence in the Kingdom of Carellon.  She was there in the capitol on the Night of Demons, when Lolth was resurrected, and again when Lolth attacked Dragaard and was killed a second time.  But on Lolth's second resurrection, when the Drow Wars began, she was locked away in Kar'Dhaer, studying, becoming a devout acolyte of the WarPriestess Erelae Linit'sur.  Now that Lolth is dead for good, Treallar has disappeared, and Eilistraee has assumed the throne of the Dark Seldarine, Eclavandra has taken on a new title, the first to do so in the court of the Moon Maiden, War Witch of the Moondancers.

Eclavandra, or Elvira Felyn as she is known around Sanctuum Menea, fights as she was taught by Erelea, in the Drovik rebel's martial arts form, complete with the signature sword dancing of the Governor of Elg'calkysheen.  She is but a young acolyte, barely into her fist level of spells, but she possesses more magius than some spellcasters three and four times more experienced.  Her extreme faith and high intellect give her access to Consecrated, Holy, and Purified magius, as well as a mage's combat spells.  The Lady of the Silvermoon grants her the power to not only turn undead, but affect lycanthropes in a similar fashion.  Her lunar affinity means her magics wax and wane with the phases of the moon.  Her devotion to Eilistraee and her previous training on the streets of the Drowlands has given her some appreciation for Erotic magic and the skill to absorb magical energy from another's orgasm.  Though she possesses Ki ability, she has not trained in any ki powers yet.  Woe to her enemies in combat when she finally does.
