Description

They all knew that Nelly had been raised in a N’esanye caravan.  The N’esanye, as stories had it, were wandering Elves, those who weren’t content to live in villages up in the high forests, especially in tree houses.  The N’esanye had set out to wander the world and that is precisely what they did.  The N’esanye had no home.  They called no kingdom theirs.  They owed allegiance to no flag and no king.  That was what made Nelly so unique.  Even though she was half-elf, one would assume she’d be more welcomed within the wandering bands and caravans of the N’esanye than in the outlander kingdom of Free Haven.  But then again, that’s sort of what Free Haven was all about,… welcoming wanderers and homeless vagabonds with potential and allowing them a home from which to realize that potential.

What the rest of the Champions of Highaven didn’t know was that Nelly actually had a family,… and had had a family for longer than most of them had been alive.  That family, obviously, were N’esanye.  And if the rumors and stories about the N’esanye were to be believed, it was no wonder why she hadn’t mentioned them.  By every accounting of everyone who’d had dealings with the N’esanye for centuries and across eight kingdoms, they were thieves, scoundrels, tramps, liars and cheats.  Most of the Champions hoped that was just prejudice talking.  Trouble was those who actually knew what they were talking about, were the ones who called the N’esanye bad news.  Only fools, from the true idiots to the pseudo-intellectuals, kept falling for their cons and their lies.

When Nelly arrived at the castle one day, a dark cloud over her and a snarl on her lips, they knew something was wrong.  A few minutes later, they were introduced to that problem child.  Nelly’s cousin, a full blood N’esanye Elf, had arrived to look up her cousin.  She was attractive and pleasant and more than a little sensual.  Brian wondered where in the world she had gotten those clothes.  From the looks of it, she was trying to out slut her cousin the Erotic.  It wouldn’t be for several weeks, and numerous encounters with assorted enraged brigands, greedy fences, jealous wives and cheated husbands, that they began to understand what they’d let in the door.

Edwenyl Triatydrim was a Bard.  As she claimed, she was one of the legendary Elven Spellsingers.  Her ability to bury her spells in her music was quickly enough verified, but she was either lying about the whole thing, or she had yet to master the true art of spellsinging.  What could be told about her without a test of combat was that she was a practiced con-artist who either got into trouble at every possible occasion, or drug old problems with her for someone else to solve.  After their adventure in the north, Lorren was actually happy to have the entertainment, even if it did have occasional and unexpectedly violent endings.

I love her write-up. The bravery? Perfect! "Ah, very big and nasty. You take care of it. I'll be over there. Way. Over. There. Good luck <3 Oh don't worry, I'll help in my way"
